Vintage Picnic Wedding in Dayton Ohio

A midmorning ceremony hidden in a hollow, followed by a visually stunning charcuterie picnic on long floor tables; hot cinnamon rolls and fresh espresso under sunshine and wispy clouds.

Brooke & Brandon’s wedding vision came together so beautifully.

This couple planned the most beautiful morning wedding on their family-own farm outside Dayton, Ohio. Using vintage thrifted pieces, handmade long floor tables, with pillows, rugs and blankets for their guests to sit on, the couple, along with their family, crafted a casual, yet aesthetically pleasing picnic brunch reception. From visually stunning charcuterie boards, to warm cinnamon rolls and a fun coffee cart, to all the vibrantly colorful flowers, their whimsical vision came together, creating a relaxed, joyful Spring celebration of their love.

We also photographed Brooke’s sister’s breathtaking fall wedding, in which Brooke and Brandon were apart of the wedding party. When you’re done reading this post, be sure to check that post out too, right here.

Brooke wore an elegant custom gown from MLM Label; its sheer flowy long sleeves complemented her grace beautifully. Her ladies wore mix-matched spring colored dresses in vintage styles.

The ladies got ready in the home of Brooke’s grandma.

Both Brooke and Brandon spent time hand copying down their vows into beautiful linen books. Brooke couldn’t help but shed a few tears as she reflected on her words in the experience of these quiet moments.

Brooke’s Bouquet was breathtaking and vibrant. Garden Glories, her floral designer, creates wild and free sculptures that match each bride’s personality. This whimsical work of her heart flawlessly fit Brooke’s dreamy essence.

Brooke’s bridesmaids and mother said a blessing over her before we left to go to the ceremony.

Brooke’s and her dad exchanged letters and gifts and took a few moments together.

Their sweet ceremony was hidden in a tiny grove of trees, where they mowed a section for chairs and a walking path to get there. It felt whimsical and romantic.

we love how Brooke described their “untraditional” first-look: The most memorable part of the day for me was seeing Brandon for the first time across a little bridge my step-dad built over the stream in our pasture. My dad and I met Brandon there for a moment of prayer before the ceremony. We were a distance away from the wedding guests and it made it such an intimate moment to share with them. I will treasure that forever.

Brooke's words about their brunch reception: "Having the low picnic tables felt like a dream that was unrealistic but I’m so thankful we went with it. It created a casual, effortless space for people to hang out. On top of that, I loved the vibrancy of the many colors I chose to incorporate into my day! Altogether it felt young and fresh…

I chose to give each of my guests a thrifted mug. I’ve collected thrifted mugs for years and I thought this would be a useful, cost-effective gift to give away. Our guests were able to choose their mug from their assigned table. Then they used them for coffee during the reception."
